About the piece: 

This painting was inspired by joy and the lightness it can bring to the heart.

Joy is not always loud or extraordinary. Sometimes, it is found in the smallest moments, in a sense of peace, in a burst of laughter, or in the simple feeling of being present and alive. It has a way of lifting us, even if only for a moment, and reminding us of the beauty that still exists around us.

I chose a canary for this piece because it felt like a beautiful symbol of joy. Its bright presence and gentle nature reflect the warmth, lightness, and energy that joy can bring. To me, the canary carries a sense of brightness and hope, like a small reminder to welcome moments that make life feel softer and more alive.

With this painting, I wanted to capture joy in a gentle and meaningful way. This piece is a reminder to cherish the simple moments, to make space for lightness, and to hold onto the feelings that bring warmth to the soul.
